I feeling like it my picture in paper. I want shout and tell my frend and my family that it same Sally that they is knowing. But I no can do that. I have to keep it all inside my heart. My heart is feel like when you is shake coke bottle and then open it and all the bubble is come out. Like that. Only I is having to keep my bottle close.

Then I is thinking if my maam seeing this I is dead. She all time on computer. She be seeing it and she be going and looking and seeing the story. Then I having be lie to her tell her this not my blog. I tell her there so many house maid is coming from Davao. So many girl is call Sally. I thinking too much lying not good. Better I hide paper. So I quickly taking paper in my room and keeping it there. I will be keep it forever.

Maam is coming downstair saying Sally where the paper. I giving her other paper. She happy. She not notice it missing. Still I is very scare. My stomic is feeling like it is feeling when I is going in car. Like I is wanting to vomit. Maam is look at me. I thinking she is knowing. all time she look at me I thinking now she will ask me. But she just telling me Sally what we be cook for dinner today?

For my maam her life is not change. everything is same. but for me nothing same anymore. I is famus. Even if only I is knowing it.

This blog is surely not written by any so called filipina maid , the author , is trying hard to pose as one , but failed on some technical part ;-) silly people......get a life ! Don't just pretend to be some one that u r not !

Anonymous said...

love the blog, but am I the only one to believe it's written not by the maid but by a clever madam?

Unknown said...

@ mrsdubai : surely u r not ! I had the same feelings when I read it for the first time today , the author intentionally made lotz of grammatical mistake to make it look like one , on the initial post's she got those correct later on she started silly mistakes ! Like I ''is'' , she'z trying hard to pose as a maid ! Lolzzz....tuff luck...people aint that dumb yet ;-)

Dear Tanvir....

Why dont we just let people do what they like as if you are unsatisfied about what she have been written..well..theres no need to critisize that much coz this is just like reading a story not debating for something that we call soo important thing..Just read bout what happen in her life in the philippine??? Is that what you called a story maker by a madam?????

this is written by some mallu who pretends to be filipina.mallus r so creative and humerous, especially the ones hailing fom thrissur

Dear Kabayan Sally,

having learned of your story from Gulf News, I must say na talagang napakaganda ng storya ng buhay mo. I shared to my own yaya na Filipina rin about your blog and she has the same advice: be careful.

Marunong ka na ngang mag-post ng entries sa blog mo and yung full name mo ay hindi naka-display and you changed the names of most of the people in your life. Pero it's still very easy to trace this blog back to you.

For one thing, computers have a history function. Ibig sabihin, madaling makita ng employers mo kung ano ang mga pinuntahang site mo sa internet. Who knows? They might already know about your blog.

Also, try and understand the situation of your employers. They're also working, if not harder, than you. To be quite honest, your employers sound like very good people. There a lot of people in worse situations. As for the internet connection na hinihingi mo, it's not as simple as you think it is. Mahal sa bulsa yun. If you can already access there internet from your bedroom using you phone, edi keep it that way. Suggest to your employers lang na you want to chat with your family, pero don't press the issue. Dahil sila ang magbabayad ng electricity and internet bill.
Never steal. Do not do unto others what you don't want others to do unto you. Gamit nila yun tapos ipapauwi mo? How would it feel if someone took one of your personal things? Hindi ba masakit?
Don't use your employer's things naman. Kabayan, hindi naman maganda yun.

Remain strong, kabayan. Bibiyayaan ka rin ng Diyos. Mag-ingat ka lagi.

Dont put any comment w/out reading her life back in the philippine..if its from kerala where he or she will know the place called davao??? and theres a lot of places in the philippine, why she have to choose davao instead of other city???? Pls dont be a racist..

I'm not buying it. Wouldn't your Maam know its you when she reads the stories? Sure there may be many maids named Sally from Davao - but c'mon - if she's reading about things like lizards and buckets of water to view the eclipse I would think she'd be able to figure it out...

Coming from a Filipina maid with li'l knowledge of English, Sally, you are quite good with spellings, especially those basic words, with the difficult words changed evidently.

I believe the blogger is a friend of this Filipina maid.

I have observed that in one of your blogs, you posted that your ma'am and family were just out for a short time and you just sneaked through your ma'am's computer to write but I'm surprised you were able to organize your thoughts so easily although excuse the grammar.

But if you really are Sally, the housemaid who constantly sneaks on her ma'am's computer just to write this blog, I am proud of u (not on the sneaking, but your desire to write). You must remember from our History that our hero(i.e. Jose Rizal) is a very good and prolific writer!

@ Tanvir & Mrs Dubai : I have doubts as well, the word "inquisitive" that the author used in one of the entries which was misspelled as "inquistve" is not commonly used by Filipinos who speaks English, whether educated or not. And when "Sally" is quoting her Madam, it's in perfect grammar! =)

But still, this is very clever..I must say, the story is not far from reality and could live up to its tittle "TRUE LIFE STORY of Filipina Maid in Dubai.." I am assuming that this is the author's way of appreciating my hardworking kabayans. But regardless of nationality, we should appreciate ALL these people who are making lives easier for us, and this blog proved that their little world could be interesting too.. ;)

Very fun interesting read , reminds me of the writer of "desperate in Dubai "

I love your blog Sally and I hope you keep writing. This blog is very important and it will help many people. I hope you become very famous so you can tell many more people how hard it is for people working like you. No one really understands service and maid work, they think it's easy and not worth it. It's not easy and it is worth it, and the people doing it should have respect and love like everyone else. So please keep writing so more people can understand and bad Sirs and Maams can learn from their mistakes.

I also want to advice you, you should always be honest Sally and never steal anything. You are a very good person so you should do good things only. Lying and stealing are bad and they hurt other people. But being honest and good brings happiness and smiles to people. So always try to make people around you happy and you will be happy too.

As for your family, you are great to help them but you have to be smart and make progress in life like you say you want to. So give family some money not all of it, and the rest save it. After you save enough money you can get diploma in anything you like and get better work that pays more money. It is very important to save money for you for later!

it's that mystery which makes people pay attention to your blogs sally.. if you're real and if its really your life story or making them up based on experiences of people/person close to you.. sending as much message..opening the eyes of readers of what actually is the life of a Filipino housemaid (DH),their attitude towards work ..the culture of Filipinos as regards family (which blows the minds of other nationalities in terms of sending money back home),religious beliefs, superstitions and life in general as a Filipino.. especially those who are able to get a job overseas without a college diploma.. which I think you are trying to emphasize that's why you used this kind of approach in writing.. clever as you always used in your entries.. clever way to glue your readers to read more of your blogs!! saludo ako.. :)

Hi Sally,

Ikaw kumusta ka? Do you miss eating 'Balut'? I learned that from Tagalog soap operas and some friends working in IT here in Malaysia.

When I first read your writings I had the opinion that you might be using Google translate from Tagalog to English but it's not a problem for me because I could still understand what you were trying to tell.

But I could feel the honesty in your writing and that's what counts. Keep on this good work. Your ma'am was right, your life is interesting, you should write a book. I know some author friends from Canada and USA. I referred your blog to one of them and suggested that maybe he could rewrite your sentences in very good English. This could be your chance to have your stories turned into a novel, God only knows. Have you heard of 'Baghdad Burning' by Riverbed?

If you like this idea, you can write to me.

I know your blog from local newspaper this morning. Your writing really honest!

so, did you delete the 'history' after use your maam computer?

This reminds me of Chona the maid. She also has a blog and really has funny posts.

http://chona.blogspot.com/

Chona had a lot of followers and readers. Eventually it was found out that Chona is the work of a bored guy.

---surprisingly for someone just sneaking around to use her "ma'am's" computer...your blog is really well organized. Even the commenting system. seriously, with word verification? nice!

So obvious that this blog is a fraud. Kakalabas lang ng article sa Gulf News at meron ka na agad blog about the article. For someone na pumupuslit lang, kabilis mo namang makapagsulat. Tsaka marami kang inconsistencies:

On December, when you received the frame as a gift you said you were only 3 months at that time.

On January, by going to Dubai Mall you said, 6 months na.

On a later post in January still, you said 2 years ka na sa Dubai (assuming naka-1 year ka sa previous employer mo who transfered you now to your current employer (Maam) edi atleast, may 1 year pang natitira. You start blogging on September, then on December you said 3 months ka pa lang.

On 'Famus' blog, sabi mo you were seeing your blog in the computer (Gulf News) and you were worried your Maam will see it online. Suddenly, you heard your Maam pababa ng hagdan asking for the papers and you removed the 'page' with your blog and gave the paper over (From computer-to-paper). And I thought, you were only sneaking out while your Maam is out when using the computer. She was at home when you said you saw an article about your blog.

And so many more....

What a fraudster!

Love it, it's a great concept, very hard to believe it's a real filipina maid writing, though! Reminds me of the short story "Leng Lui is for Pretty Lady" by Elaine Chew in "One World: A global anthology of short stories" by Chimamanda Adichie and Jhumpa Lahiri. You don't have to be a maid to be able to tell her story ... Kudos to the author though, whoever you are!

I agree with Ama. Kudos to the author whoever you are.

Any how stories intresting & there are so many "contro" in ur blogs.

meantime if some one want to find your IP will not take more than 10min.

So if it's a real story be careful and DO WELL all things.

@ Rij and Tanvir: It is really hard to digest, as Gulfnews has given such a publicity on such a sally(silly)thing! There are so many funny blogs better than this. But this is a proof of how silly things can be made popular with the help of a newspaper. There are lot of Big issues, would have given more importance, for instance, there was job scammers, looting money from job seekers. They published it only after a long time after the scammers have earned good money. They didnt talk about it, even they received several emails from the victims!!And morever, where is the time for this said maid to write and arrange a blog, with intentional mistakes, inorder to pretend!I admit, it is funny, but no need to give too much importance, by the newspaper!

This is how an uneducated Filipina write

" It is about a letter that was found in some bar in Malate. It was written by a bar girl to another bar girl whose boyfriend she apparently stole. SO… READ ON..

Here’s the actual letter:

To Marjie,

I am not surprise or wander why Dennis leave you. Why? What reason you can think about but you’re very fat body. I’m thought before that Dennis only use me to his toy but sooner and later I’m realize that he really can’t not beared or stomached to be with you anymore because at first, Dennis say he could not stand you’re habit of making pakialam all his walks and always calling to their house what time he go home or this or that and then he say he get ashame to met you iether in school or in his family and then asking you to exercise you’re very, very, very fat body but you hate it you thoughth you’re the most prettiest girls he know about what do you think you are “Beautiful Girl” of Jose Mari Chan even you are beautiful face (to your think) you do not have the rigth to called me whatsoever or else different name one time or the other for the real purposed to insults my personality because I’m never call you names before iether in front of Dennis or in the backs of Dennis, but if you start already to calling me different name, I’m don’t have any other choice but to called you other different name to like you are a PIG, FAT, OBESSED, OVERWIGHT AND UGLY SHAPE girl. Shame to you’re body that is to a BUDING. You can’t not blame Dennis for exchanging you to me because I’m am the more sexier than you when you look to us in the mirror. I’m repeat again that you are like Ike Lozada when she is a girl.

FROM: THE SEXIEST GIRL OF D.M.

Compare this to Sally's post and you decide.
